The New England Society in the City of New York is pleased to announce the finalists of the 2019 New England Society Book Awards, honoring books of merit that celebrate New England and its culture.

May 15, 2019: Our 2019 Book Awards winners will be announced at our Founders' Day Celebration, at the Colony Club (564 Park Avenue, NYC) from 6:30 to 9 p.m.  Please join us for delicious food and lively conversation; tickets may be purchased here.

June 26, 2019: The New England Society Book Awards Literary Salon and Awards Presentation are now one wonderful evening-long event! The 2019 Book Awards will be held on Wednesday, June 26, from 6 to 9 p.m., at The National Arts Club (15 Gramercy Park South, New York) on beautiful Gramercy Park. Tickets may be purchased here.

The Salon is attended by winning authors, jurors and readers and is open to all members and guests. The event offers an opportunity to mingle with the authors and enjoy cocktails and a hearty selection of hors d'oeuvres at the historic National Arts Club, the beautiful Victorian Gothic former home of Samuel J. Tilden, followed by the Awards Presentation and a lively panel question-and-answer session emceed by NES Board Member Matt Rimi.

This combined event honors the authors and literary works that express and exemplify the spirit and culture of New England. The NES Book Awards are presented annually in Fiction, Historical Nonfiction, Contemporary Nonfiction, Art & Photography and Specialty Title categories.
